I'm with you Laurie, The priorities are: 1)shelter and that includes paying basic bills like light and water 2)food 3)insurance- health 4)transportation, and that means insurance, 5)clothing 6)anything else The Reason Dear Hubby will not ever quit a job till he has another or has won the lottery and even then will probably continue to work? Insurance. We're both diabetic, he's had deep vein thrombosis in both legs, is disabled in one leg because of that, he has rheumatoid arthritis. Heart and everything else..working just fine thank the Lord. Me? diabetes, brought on by the medication I had to take for: bilateral recessed stenosis of L4 and L5 vertebra. Not fun, has put me on disabled list too. We were smart, and had me put on hubbys insurance when we got married, cause it was fairly cheap. That's the only way I've been able to take this year off of teaching without us going into major debt and possibly killing ourselves with worry. Tell DW? Insurance is so you can sleep at night, and STAY HEALTHY, and not possibly murder your dearly beloved. Good luck.

Ugh, that just sucks. When my husband got laid off he forgot to pay COBRA one month so we were w/o insurance. I insisted we get at least the kids covered, b/c you never know. That's why they call it INSURANCE. Tell your husband you ARE getting something: protection against the unknown. That's worth a lot.
