Just to make you jealous...I have not only attended a Donny Osmond concert but I've gone to Osmond concerts TWICE and I saw him in Joseph and the Amazing...ALSO - An old boss of mine lived next door to Donny Osmond in Irvine, California so I got to stand in Donny's driveway, peek over his fence, and (sh! don't tell) take his mail out of his mailbox and hold it for a few short moments. Then my boss made me put it back. Now that's a moment I never want to have not had!

Awww, now geez, I was with you up until the Donny Osmond part, then we had a little parting of the minds on accounta you MUST BE CRAZY (I mean that in an affectionate way), as David Cassidy is CLEARLY HELLA CUTER than Donny Osmond ever was, and PLUS, oh my god he's so much cuter!!! But other than that, I'm with you, I wish I could go back and tell the little 30 yr old me who was going through a divorce, I wish I could tell her about the HOT SCHWANGING YOUNGER MAN she would eventually land, I mean hook, I mean marry.

Kathy, I think my own inner-past-self-child is cheered up by that. I'm beaming back thought waves that say "30+ years from now, you're going to know somebody who held Donny Osmond's mail in her hands."

It's not crazy, it's perspective, which friends have when you don't because you're going through it, and you have later once you are past it and come out on the other end. It comes in bits and pieces though I have to say I started getting a big chunk of it right around turning 30. Suddenly I can actually admit to myself that my parents did the best they knew how and that maybe I shouldn't hold such a grudge against them, 'cause hey, I turned out pretty well after all.

m-o-r, I was so deeply and tragically in love with Donny at age 9, my little heart still aches.

I read your blog every day, and you're ADORABLE. *SMOOOOCH*! Too bad you're taken...

This post my my eyes well! Not because of Mom and Dad, but because my little 5-, 10-, 12-, 17-year-old selves identified with it oh-too-well. All except for the Donny Osmond part, that is. My guy was Kirk Cameron.

*sigh* I often wonder if I'll ever, ever get to meet Ricky Schroeder and steal him away...

Okay great post. I met Donny Osmond, but did not kiss him. In the 80's Bert worked for a radio station. Donny was trying to stage a comeback, did that whole "Soldier of Love" thing and came here in concert.Bert's station sponsored it. We went, we shook hands back stage. Hell we gave tickets to our neighbors. I wish I had known you. You know he has a blog that gets like a bizillion hits a day, we saw it on Larry King Live.

Thanks, Lori. LOVE!

Donny, I understand you're taken, too.

EB, I remember your Kirk Cameron poster very well.

Lucinda, he's a really hot, 36-year-old RICK Schroeder now.

Lisa, just like with Kathy's comment, I think my 9-year-old self is melting a little at the thought.
